REQUIRES PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION ONLY. THIS IS A PART WHICH REQUIRES VEHICLE MATCHING AND OTHER PARTS TO WORK WITH IT. The 556UW is suitable remote start interface for use with most transponder type factory immobilizer systems. A working ignition key is required for operation. The 556UW remote start immobilizer interface module is used when installing remote start products in vehicles equipped w/a transponder or RF (Radio Frequency) based immobilizer system. This type of system uses a small chip imbedded in the ignition key, called a transponder, to transmit a very low powered RF signal. This signal is picked up through an antenna (or coil) around the ignition switch which is then sent to the immobilizer s transceiver. Once the correct signal is received, the immobilizer will enable the ignition and/or fuel systems. If an attempt is made to start the vehicle & the transceiver does not receive a valid code, the ignition & sometimes the fuel systems are disabled. The immobilizer system will then not allow the remote start to successfully start the vehicle. The 556UW bypasses the immobilizer system only while the remote start is in use, maintaining the factory system s integrity. When the remote start system is not in use the factory immobilizer remains fully functional. 556UW 556U (CLAMSHELL) 556UB (BOA CLAMSHELL) Notes: Requires use of a spare key for the vehicle. Replaces 555U, 555UW, 555B, 555BW Selectable key windings provide ability to tune kit to specific transponder frequency used by different manufacturers. Simple jumper selection to tune kit for European vehicles (60 windings) or domestic (18 windings) Tamper prevention circuit provides ability to open keysense circuit to prevent immobilizer module from reading two RFID's at once & going into tamper mode. Keysense trigger provides ability to shut off universal transponder bypass as soon as driver s ignition key is put into cylinder for key take over. This prevents the vehicle from detecting the 2nd RFID of driver s key & causing a tamper code. Works w/any aftermarket remote start system.
